Question of the Month

If Utah Legislators decide to build an alternative spent fuel storage facility in southern Utah (referred to as "Plan B"), does that mean the Skull Valley facility would not be needed?

No. Our experience has shown that it can easily take 9-10 years to design, license, and build a facility. Some PFS member utilities, as well as other nuclear utilities, need spent fuel storage now. The PFS facility, if licensed, could be ready in 2005, a good 8-9 years before a "Plan B" facility could be up and running.
